Cheat Sheets

Stabilizing and Hook Ups
  1. Lock the wheels by pressing the lever down
  2. Lift the black toggle knob and turn the stabilizing foot
  3. Plug the board in electrical outlet -- make sure it makes its chime
  4. Plug the USB cord from the board into the computer
*Make sure the computer is connected to the projector
*Be careful that you manage the cords carefully. Keep the electrical cord out of reach of the children and any walking area.
*Make sure the students are aware of the USB cord as to not trip or stand on it while working on the board. Taping down in several sections is an option.

Calibrating the Promethean
There are 3 ways to calibrate your Promethean:
  1. Hold the pen or wand over the flame on the top left of the board. The flame will turn red. Wait until you hear a sound and the screen turns white.
  2. Control-click on the desktop to get the contextual menu. Choose More>Calibrate Activeboard. You will hear the sound and the screen turn white.
  3. Open ActivStudio software. Click ACTIV from the top menus. Choose Calibrate Activeboard.
*Once you get the white screen. Click in the middle and click once on all 5 crosses (4 corners and one center)
*Remember if you change the screen size by moving the projector and/or move the board, you will have to re-calibrate.
